The grape variety was bred in 1882 by Professor Hermann Müller from the canton of Thurgau. Contrary to earlier assumptions, it is a cross between the Riesling and Madeleine Royale varieties. The Stäfner Riesling-Sylvaner is a delicately fruity, drinkable, elegant wine with a pleasant muscat tone, a rather mild acidity and a wonderful bouquet with a delicate floral scent.
100% of the grapes for this Riesling-Sylvaner come from the Stäfner Lattenberg, spread over an altitude of almost 50 meters. Thanks to the deep moraine soils and occasional brown earth soils there, an unexpected minerality comes to the fore in this Riesling-Sylvaner.
The result is a delicately fruity, mineral wine with a subtle muscat tone and an incredible salinity.
A very fresh, drinkable summer wine, perfect for your aperitif.
